ABOUT US

 

INDIA-AIDS is a registered, Delhi-based non-governmental organization (NGO) that has been working at the grassroots level for over 25 years. Established during the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis in India, our organization was born out of urgency and compassion—to offer dignity, support, and care to individuals and families impacted by the disease. Over the years, as India made progress in AIDS awareness, treatment, and inclusion, we expanded our scope to respond to a broader spectrum of social challenges across four interconnected domains: Health, Education, Environment, and Empowerment.

Today, INDIA-AIDS stands as a dynamic, multi-sectoral NGO dedicated to uplifting the marginalized, promoting sustainable living, and building self-reliant communities across Delhi NCR and beyond.

🌟 Our Origin & Evolution

When we began, AIDS patients were stigmatized and often isolated—facing not only physical illness but also severe emotional and social trauma. INDIA-AIDS stepped in as a lifeline, providing moral support, access to medicine, counseling, and public awareness campaigns that challenged the silence around HIV/AIDS.

With time, we recognized that poverty, lack of education, unemployment, and poor living conditions were all interconnected issues. To truly empower individuals, we had to go beyond health support. Thus began our transition into a broader social development organization.

Today, we work with slum communities, women, youth, daily-wage workers, widows, and school children, equipping them with the skills, tools, and confidence to lead better lives.

INDIA-AIDS runs diverse programs in both urban and rural settings:

 

🏥 Health & Wellness

  • Awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS, hygiene, and immunity

  • Free blood donation drives and medical check-up camps

  • Ashwagandha and Tulsi sapling distribution to promote traditional wellness

  • Yoga workshops supported by the Ministry of AYUSH

  • Herbal Garden creation in schools and public spaces

 

🎓 Education & Skill Development

  • Tuition support for slum children and dropout students

  • Vocational training under Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) in:

    • Tailoring and stitching

    • Beauty care and wellness

    • Computer literacy

    • Gardening and art

    • Plastic waste management and reuse crafts

 

🌿 Environment & Sustainability

  • Distribution of over 1 lakh tree and medicinal plant saplings

  • Creation of Rashi Gardens, Saghan Vans, and selfie points to engage youth

  • Classes and workshops on plastic segregation and waste-to-wealth initiatives

  • Collaborations with IOCL, AAI, NMPB, and other institutions for greening and awareness

 

💪 Empowerment & Opportunity

  • Supporting widows and slum women with micro-entrepreneurship skills

  • Conducting street plays and community outreach for social messaging

  • Sponsorship and mentoring for talented youth like Master Prince Bainsla, a young golf champion being supported through CSR funds from Siddhartha Grease & Lubes Pvt. Ltd.

  • Over 10,000 women and youth trained in livelihood skills

  • More than 100,000 saplings distributed and planted

  • Vocational centers established across multiple districts

  • Herbal Gardens set up in over 25 schools

  • Direct support extended to hundreds of students, widows, and daily wage families
