🌍 Celebrating Earth Day 2025 in Aspirational District – Nuh, Haryana

Theme: “Our Power, Our Planet"


In a vibrant display of commitment to environmental consciousness and renewable energy, the 55th Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Block Nuh, Haryana. The program was successfully organized by the renowned NGO INDIA-AIDS, Dwarka, New Delhi, on behalf of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.


Under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Jitender Singh, the event brought together over 400 girl students from Class 6th onwards, along with school faculty, dignitaries, and education leaders. Block Nuh, recognized as an inspirational district of Haryana, served as the perfect host for such a forward-thinking initiative.


The theme of this year’s Earth Day, “Our Power, Our Planet – Renewable Energy,” underscored the vital role renewable energy plays in combating climate change and creating a sustainable future. The event commenced with a grand welcome of guests including several school Principals from across the district, Director of Education, District President Mrs. Usha Singh, and esteemed environmental advocate Mrs. Nirmal Jain.

The students and faculty came together to form a Human Chain promoting unity and environmental responsibility. A tree plantation drive followed, where saplings were planted across the school campus, while additional Ashwagandha and other medicinal saplings were distributed to students and staff, reinforcing the message of sustainable green living.

A host of engaging and educational activities were held throughout the day. These included a drawing competition, slogan writing, debates, and speech presentations by students on the importance of conserving nature and adopting renewable energy sources. The student-led speeches highlighted their awareness and growing passion for sustainable solutions.

General Secretary of INDIA-AIDS, Mrs. Archana Shrivastava, delivered a powerful keynote address focused on the relevance of renewable energy and the importance of involving youth in climate action. She also spoke about the ongoing commitment of INDIA-AIDS to health, education, and the environment, and its special efforts in rural and underdeveloped regions like Nuh.


All dignitaries and special guests were honoured with shawls and bouquets as a token of gratitude by INDIA-AIDS. The winners of the various competitions were felicitated with trophies, medals, and prizes, while consolation prizes were distributed to encourage participation. Every student who took part in the program received a Certificate of Participation, symbolizing their role in shaping a greener tomorrow.

This Earth Day celebration served as a meaningful reminder of our collective responsibility toward the planet. It successfully inspired hundreds of young students to adopt greener lifestyles and reaffirmed the power of community collaboration in building a sustainable future.
