🌍 World Environment Day Celebration at INDIA-AIDS Centre

Date: 5th June 2025

Theme: “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration

Venue: INDIA-AIDS Vocational & Activity Centre, Delhi

To mark the global occasion of World Environment Day, INDIA-AIDS organized a vibrant and impactful celebration on 5th June 2025 at its vocational and training center. The event served as a platform to spread awareness on climate action, land restoration, and sustainable living among community members, students, and volunteers.

The center was beautifully decorated with eco-themed posters and banners created by the students from various JSS courses. The celebration began with a pledge to protect and preserve nature, followed by the distribution of Ashwagandha, Neem, and Tulsi saplings to all attendees. Over 500 saplings were handed out with guidance on how to plant and care for them—reinforcing the NGO’s ongoing efforts in greening urban spaces.

As part of the activities, a painting competition on “Nature and Me” was held for children, while JSS trainees showcased eco-crafts such as paper bags, planters, and upcycled decorative items. A mini-exhibition highlighted INDIA-AIDS’ work in plastic segregation, gardening, and medicinal plant awareness.

Guest speaker Mrs. Archana Shrivastava, General Secretary of INDIA-AIDS, emphasized the need to adopt green practices in daily life—from waste segregation to energy conservation. The event also included a special session on “Home Composting and Urban Gardening”, inspiring participants to take small steps toward a big environmental impact.

The celebration concluded with a community plantation drive around the center, reaffirming INDIA-AIDS’s commitment to a cleaner, greener tomorrow. The event successfully united people across age groups in the spirit of restoration, responsibility, and respect for the Earth.
